http://lcjt-little-shop-of-horrors.weebly.com. You can also access it from the LCJT site (go to “Little Shop” page).
General Ticket Sales: General ticket sales are now open through Brown Paper Tickets and audience members can use credit cards. I have sent an e-flyer for you to forward to family and friends, and will send it again. Please encourage them to get tickets ahead of time as they can only pay with cash or check at the door. I have also sent a printable flyer with the link as well if you would like to hang them up in schools and businesses. Please invite like everyone you know…..it is going to be an amazing show!!
Advanced Discount Ticket Sales-$8 for parents: Advanced ticket sales for parents will open tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday) and tix can be purchased at the beginning and end of each rehearsal through Friday in the lobby from our lovely and elegant “ticket angel”, Jill Weinlein! We are offering $8 presale tickets for parents if you would like to buy discounted tickets for family and friends! It will be “general seating” and there is no limit to the number of discounted tickets you can buy. Tickets at the door will be $10.
Girl Scouts/Boy Scouts!!: Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts are free for the Saturday matinee performances (they should come in uniform, of course), so feel free to pass the word!
Dance Shoes: Everyone should have dance shoes by now (Payless has great inexpensive ones!).
Costumes to be provided from home: We will be fitting costumes gradually this week with our costumer Zoe. I may contact you individually about specific items to be provided from home, but this is what we have so far:
Boys: For the 1950s style, we would like boys to provide khaki colored pants as the basis for their general costume. Mushniks could provide a suit if they have it (but if not, we will find something). Orin can wear black jeans. An alternate shoe choice for Seymore would be converse tennis shoes. All other boys can wear dance shoes.
Girls: At the moment, the only costume requirements for girls are dance shoes and a pair of black leggings to go under dresses and a small tank top or camisol, so that they can change easily backstageJ
Hair/Make-up:
Girls: We will be having hair stylist coming in to style the girls hair in awesome 1950s styles. Girls should be brought with CLEAN, DRY, AND CURLED hair on Friday and Saturday. Audreys will be wearing a wig. Make up is optional, except for the Audreys who should wear a bit more makeup.
Boys: No make up, but hair in general should be slicked back 1950s style.
Ads in the program: We are selling “Best Wishes” and business ads in the program as a fundraiser for LCJT! Please see attached samples and let us know if you would like to buy one. It is always fun for kids to see their name and photo in print!
¼ page ads are $30 and ½ page ads are $60. Please e-mail Suzan a picture and what text you would like by Wednesday, July 30. You can pay Jill during ticket sales for the ad.
DVD of the Show: We will be having the show professionally videotaped and copies will be available for purchase for $35. Please note that we are using a different company this year and you will actually be able to see footage in the lobby right after the show! We will have order forms for you this week. Please note that we cannot allow any flash photography, as this can be distracting and dangerous for the kids. Also No tripods are allowed as we might be using the audience as a playing area, so the aisles must be kept completely free. The safety of the kids is out biggest priority. Feel free to take non-flash photographs and video from you seat!
Back Stage Crew: We have already had some older siblings volunteer as stage crew, but could use several more and we will give LOTS of community service credit! We would like them to be 12 years or older and available. We need to have them on Thursday, 9:00 AM-12:30 PM and all day Friday (we will feed them pizza for dinner and they should bring a lunch. Please have interested kids e-mail Suzan at [email protected] and cc our stage manager, Meredith at [email protected]. Thanks!
Help for the Show: We would love for parents to help with the show too: selling ticket, front of house managing, putting finishing touches on hair and make-up, dinner-time supervision, setting up and cleaning up after cast party, etc. More details to follow, but let us know if you would like to help!
Rest for the Kids: Please be sure that your kids get lots of rest this week, as we want everyone healthy and happy for the performances. Pamper them like the STARS they are!
If possible, no swim parties, “sleep overs” or screaming this week (I know that is asking a lot)!
Thanks for all of your help, enthusiasm and support………….you are absolutely going to LOVE Little Shop of Horrors!!!!
